CCFR July 12, 2008

Stations 2 and 6 responded to a head-on MVC in the 13000 block of ACE Basin Parkway (US Hwy 17) Saturday 5-July at 12:20. The two car MVC injured four people, one severely. An elderly man suffered acute abdominal injuries. Firefighters treated him at the scene, which included bilateral IV lines and packaged him for transport. The Meducare helicopter responded to a field next to the Balchem Chemical Plant and flew the patient to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. Two other patients were transported to Colleton Medical Center by Medic 27 for further treatment.

Engine 2, Medic 6, Medic 27, Rescue 1, Battalion 1 and Truck 12 responded. Fire Commissioner SG Drew served as Incident Commander.
