Colleton County Fire-Rescue

1/12/2009

Stations 1, 9 and  11 responded to a rollover accident in the 7000 block of Rehoboth Road at 2341, Monday night 12-January. The south bound older model pickup truck left the roadway at a high rate of speed, over corrected and roll over on the north bound side of the road, striking a power pole. The truck received moderate damage in the collision thus trapping the 65 year old driver in the wreckage. The man suffered multiple non-life threatening trauma injuries. Firefighters used Holmatro Rescue tools to flap the roof and extricate the man. He was removed with full spinal precautions and transported by Medic 9 to Colleton Medical Center. The Highway Patrol are investigating the accident to determine if alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.

Engine 9, Medic 9, Rescue 1 and Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander.
