Fire-Rescue and Forestry units responded to a second large woods fire in the 500 block of Bowman Lane at 1340 on Sunday afternoon 22-February. Also driven by high winds, the fire spread near multiple structures and burned approximately 7 acres of woods, grass and a small field. Multiple stations were dispatched on the first alarm, due to the number of endangered homes, some units responded from the Wasson Lane fire 18 miles away. Units were quickly deployed to protect residences and other structures while the Forestry tractor cut a line around the fire. Firefighters prevented the fire from reaching any homes, some with only a few feet to spare. One storage building received minor damage. Units were on the scene for 1-1/2 hours.

Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 6, Engine 9, Engine 12, Tender 9, Tender 12, Tender 27, Medic 6, Medic 9, Brush 2, Brush 8, Squad 9 and Battalion 1 responded. Firefighter-Paramedic Trae Wright served as Incident Commander.
