Medic 27, Truck 111 and Walterboro Public Safety units responded to a car vs motorcycle accident in the 700 block of Bells Hwy. in front of the Captain Ds Restaurant, Thursday 19-March at 1255. The driver of the car was not injured in the collision, however the motorcycle operator received severe injuries to her head and legs. Medic 19 treated the woman at the scene and requested the a medical helicopter to fly the patient to a Trauma Center.

She was packaged and transported the helipad at Colleton Medical Center, three blocks away to meet with Meducare. The patient was flown to MUSC in Charleston. East bound traffic on Bells Hwy. was diverted for about 30 minutes.

Medic 19, Truck 111 and Walterboro City Engine 3 responded. Asst. Chief David Greene served as Incident Commander.
