At 1128, Tuesday morning 13-October, Station 6 responded to a man injured when a portion of a house fell, trapping the man. He and some companions were in the process of demolishing an old home, when the roof over the porch collapsed on the man. His coworkers were able to lift the roof off of the man and pull him to safety. He suffered multiple trauma injuries during the incident. The Omniflight-Charleston helicopter flew to a nearby field. Medic 6’s crew immobilized the patient, established IVs and administered pain medications at the scene, then transported him ½ mile to meet up with the helicopter. He was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.

Engine 6, Medic 6 and Battalion 1 responded to the incident. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander.
