Stations 1, 19, 24 and 26 responded to a structure fire in a mechanics garage located at 301 Pansey Street at 0817, Wednesday morning 23-December. Engine 26 arrived to find the rear wall of the structure on fire, which had extended to pine straw on the roof of the building.  A single hand line was deployed and quickly knocked down the fire. Firefighters removed a portion of the rear wall to extinguish the fire and laddered the building to extinguish the fire on the roof. Units were on the scene for about 45 minutes. The structure suffered moderate damage, but most equipment and vehicles in the building were saved. An adjacent storage building was also saved. The cause of the fire was a faulty chimney from a wood burning stove inside the structure.

Engine 1, Engine 26, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Truck 12 responded. Firefighter-Paramedics Trea Wright served as Incident Commander.
