Stations 1, 27 and Walterboro Public Safety responded to a shooting incident at 100 Sniders Highway at the Druid Hills Apartments Sunday afternoon 27-December at 1616. First arriving Firefighter-Paramedics found an 18 year old male limping in front of the “D” building complaining of being shot in the leg. The victim was treated at the scene for a single gunshot wound to the left thigh without an exit wound. He also received a minor laceration to his forehead during the altercation. Medic 27 arrived a short time later and while crews were in the process of treating the victim, 9-1-1 Operators advised of a second victim with a stab wound in the “F” building. Law Enforcement Officers and Firefighter-Paramedics searched for the second victim, but he was not located at the scene. Medic 27 transported the gunshot victim to Colleton Medical Center in stable condition. On arrival at the hospital, the second victim was already at the ED. He arrived by private auto. He suffered a minor wound to his head. Walterboro Public Safety is investigating the incident. Sheriff’s Deputies, State Troopers and Wildlife Officers responded to the scene and the hospital.

 

Engine 1, Medic 27, Battalion 1, Truck 11, Truck 12 and Walterboro Engine 2 responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander.
