Stations 7,18 and 26 responded to a high speed two vehicle MVC on Johnsville Road at the intersection of Yorkshire Lane at 2147, Wednesday evening 20-Jan. According to witness statements a northbound Honda Accord was attempting to pass an older model Thunderbird at an intersection, when the Thunderbird attempted to make a left turn on to Yorkshire Lane. The Honda collided with the Thunderbird in the intersection causing extensive damage to the Thunderbird. Both cars came to rest in a water filled ditch. Four people received injuries in the crash, two critically.

An adult female who received injuries was transported by private car to Colleton Medical Center before emergency crews arrived. The critically injured man was treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics, who had to perform RSI (Rapid Sequence Intubation) to secure his airway. A medical helicopter was called to the scene. Omniflight-Charleston flew the man to the Trauma Center at MUSC. The remaining two patients were transported by Medic 26 to Colleton Medical Center. Johnsville Road was blocked was about two hours until the accident was cleared up. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Medic 26 later transported the female who arrived at the ED by private auto to MUSC. She was in critical condition as a result of her injuries.

Engine 7, Rescue 18, Medic 18, Medic 26, and Truck 12 responded.  Lieutenant Joey Campbell served as Incident Commander.
