A 25 year old Canadys woman received leg wounds in a shooting incident that occurred at 10347 Jefferies Highway, Tuesday evening 25-May at 1944. Sheriff’s Deputies and Fire-Rescue responded to the residence on a report of a woman being shot at the location. Deputies searched the scene and could not locate any persons in or around the residence. At 2015, units were called to a residence on Red Bank Road approximately 1 mile from the initial incident advising the female patient had walked to this home to call for assistance. Medic 26 responded and found the patient on the front porch with wounds to both legs, possibly from a single gunshot. The injuries were not life threatening. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to Colleton Medical Center. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case.

Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 11 and Car 12 responded to the initial dispatch on Jefferies Highway. Medic 26, Car 11 and Car 12 responded to the Red Bank Road location.
