Stations 1 and 6 responded to a two car MVC in the 13000 block of Green Pond Highway (SC hwy 303) just north of ACE Basin Parkway (US Hwy 17) Monday afternoon 19-July at 1400. A northbound small Honda collided with a northbound full size Ford pickup truck and overturned. Two adults and an infant were trapped in the wreckage. Bystanders were able to safely remove the infant who was protected in a child safety seat and was not injured. The male was able to self extricate before emergency crews arrived. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man at the scene for non-life threatening trauma injuries. An adult female was still secured in her seatbelt, but hanging upside down in the car. Crews stabilized the car and removed the rear window to access the woman. She was carefully extricated and transported to Colleton Medical Center by Medic 27. The woman had non-life threatening injuries. Traffic on Green Pond Hwy was rerouted for about an hour.  

Engine 6, Rescue 1, Medic 1, Medic 6, Battalion 1, Car 11, Car 110 and Car 116 responded. Firefighter-EMT Kurt Kruysman served as Incident Commander.
