02/24/2010 – “A” Shift – Motorcycle MVC

Incident # 11-01063 – A head-on motorcycle crash sent one man to the hospital for treatment of multiple traumatic injuries. A 13:42, Thursday 24-February a west bound motorcycle turned in the path of an eastbound passenger car in the intersection of Cottageville Highway and Robertson Blvd. Witnesses stated the two vehicles collided head-on with the motorcycle driver, who was propelled over the car, landing in the intersection. The motorcycle driver was wearing a helmet. He suffered traumatic injuries. The driver of the car was not injured. Medic 1 treated the man at the scene, immobilized him, then transported him to Colleton Medical Center for further treatment. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
