09/19/2011 – Shed/Camper Fire – “A “ Shift

Incident # 11-05100 – An unattended trash fire spread to a  camper, two metal storage buildings and a car port behind 2628 Brick Road Monday, 19-September at 1709. Engine 31 arrived to report a fully involved camper and two well involved 12x12 storage buildings. The fire had also consumed several items under a car port and extended into a wooded area behind the sheds. Engine 31 used a deck gun to knock down the camper, the sheds and began working on the woods fire. Firefighters deployed an 1-3/4 handline and booster line to attack the remaining fire in the buildings and in the woods. Tenders supplied water for the operation. Crews overhauled the buildings, but little was saved. The camper was a total loss. There was no damage to the nearby home and no injuries were reported.  

Engine 4, Engine 8, Engine 31, Tender 1, Tender 4, Tender 8, Tender 18, Medic 18, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 116 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
