10/05/2011 – Traumatic Injuries with Air Evacuation – “B” Shift

Incident # 11-05402 – An adult male fell approximately 15 to 20 feet from a deer stand, sustaining multiple traumatic injuries Wednesday afternoon 5-October at 14:34. The incident was reported to be in the woods near 195 Apostle Lane, west of Cottageville. The man may have suffered a medical problem as well. Firefighter-Paramedics from Engine 9 and Medic 9 treated the man at the scene and requested a medical helicopter to transport him to a trauma center. Lifenet 4 responded from Walterboro, landing in a field near the scene at the intersection of Abbey Land and Valhalla Lane. The patient was transferred without incident. He was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.

Engine 9, Medic 9 and Car 117 responded. Lt. Joseph Campbell served as Incident Commander.
