Incident # 11-06171 – A high speed single vehicle MVC has sent one man to a Trauma Center. The accident was reported at 02:25, Sunday morning 20-November on Charleston Highway near Parkers Ferry Road. The east bound pick-up truck left the roadway on the west bound side of the highway, striking a driveway culvert then several trees. The truck flipped over landing on its roof and ejecting the driver. A Sheriff’s Deputy was in the area and arrived quickly, finding the man unconscious in the ditch. Medic 6 arrived a short time later, treated the man at the scene and rapidly transported him to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. He did regain consciousness prior to transport. Firefighters searched the surrounding wooded area with flashlights and a thermal imaging camera to determine no other patients were involved.
