11/27/2011 – MVC with Air Evacuation – “A” Shift

Incident # 11-06310 – A 16 year old girl received multiple traumatic injuries in a single car MVC in the 10000 block of Round O Road Sunday afternoon 27-November at 15:02. The small convertible appeared to have the left the roadway, over-corrected and slid sideways into a tree. The car received heavy damage, with approximately 2 feet of intrusion into the passenger compartment. The driver was treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics and a physician who stopped to assist. A medical helicopter was requested. The patient was immobilized, given pain medications and then transported to a field near Bodison Memorial Drive to meet with the Air Methods-Omniflight 7 helicopter. She was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.

Engine 9, Medic 9, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded. Firefighter Troy Millen served as Incident Commander.
