Incident # 12-03591 – One man was flown to a Trauma Center following a collision between a small car and a tractor trailer on I-95. The accident occurred near the 59 mile marker northbound. The small car received heavy damage and the driver’s side “A” post was severed in half. The semi-conscious male driver suffered a suspected head injury. The tractor trailer stopped in the breakdown lane just north of the car. The driver of the truck was not injured. Firefighter-Paramedics briefly treated the man at the scene, then transported him to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with the Life Net 4 helicopter. The patient was transferred without incident, then flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.
