29/August/2012 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 12-04736 – A vacant single story residence was completely destroyed Wednesday morning 29-August. 9-1-1 operators received a report of the building fire at 01:30 advising the building was well involved. Engine 18 arrived within minutes reporting the older wooden structure had already collapsed and was on the ground. Engine 18 deployed two 1-3/4 handlines and one booster line to extinguish the fire. Firefighters removed the remains of the tin roof to reach the burning debris underneath. Water supply was maintained with a shuttle operation, using nearby pressurized hydrants to refill the Tenders. Personnel were on the scene for two and half hours. The cause the fire is under investigation.

Engine 7, Engine 18, Tender 7, Tender 18, Tender 26, Medic 18, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander.
