13/October/2012 – Double Shooting Incident – “A” Shift

Incident # 12-05613 – Two adults were shot and a child was injured during a shooting incident that occurred at 212 Enterprise Street Saturday night 13-October at 21:12. An unknown subject, using what is suspected to be a semi-automatic rifle, fired more than a dozen rounds into a singlewide mobile home. The home was riddled with bullets, many of which went completely through the residence. An 48 year old male was hit in the legs and a 36 year old female received a single GSW to the lower leg. A seven year old girl received lacerations to her face, possibly from broken glass, after her mother pushed her the floor. The move most likely prevented her from being hit by any bullets. Deputies converged on the area, securing it for Firefighter-Paramedics to enter and treat the injured. Two Fire-Rescue ambulances, a Paramedic Engine and three Paramedic First Response Units responded. The two females were transported to Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, while the adult male was transported to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with LifeNet 4. He was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, which may be related to another shooting incident that occurred earlier in the day. No one was injured in the first incident.

Engine 19, Medic 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
