05/March/2013 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 13-01154 – Firefighters responded to a doublewide mobile fire at 2214 Scuffletown Road Tuesday afternoon 5-March at 15:02. Units arrived to find smoke coming from the dwelling and fire in the attic space. Crews deployed multiple handlines and contained the fire to the kitchen and attic. The fire began on the exterior of the home in an area on the back porch. It spread up the back wall and into the attic. The fire destroyed the roof over the kitchen and multiple spot fires were found in the insulation throughout the attic. Most of the belongings in the home were saved and had to be removed so crews could pull the ceilings in the home to reach the spot fires. Units were on the scene for over four hours. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Engine 4, Engine 8, Engine 31, Tender 4, Tender 8, Tender 18, Medic 18, Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander.
