06/June/2013 – Shooting Incident – “C” shift

Incident # 13-03035 – A 32 year old man was shot multiple times at a residence located at 98 Oswald Court north of Walterboro Thursday afternoon 06-June at 16:43. Several Sheriff’s Deputies cleared the scene to allow other personnel to reach the patient. Firefighter-Paramedics found the man lying in the front yard near a car. He suffered from multiple large caliber gunshot wounds to the abdomen and extremities. Due to poor weather conditions from the impending Tropical Storm no medical helicopters could fly. He was treated at the scene including bleeding control and several IVs, then rapidly transported by Medic 26 directly to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. He was in stable condition on arrival at MUSC. The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

Engine 19, Medic 26, Car 12, Car 105, Car 107 and Car 118 responded. Deputy Chief David Greene served as Incident Commander.
