29/July/2013 – Auto Pedestrian Accident – “A” Shift

Incident # 13-04118 – An adult male received multiple traumatic injuries after being hit by a car in the 100 block of Peurifoy Road Monday morning, 29-July. The incident was reported at 05:55 after the man was struck, then thrown into the ditch. Firefighter-Paramedics found the man semi-conscious lying the mud. The accident occurred on a dark section of the of the road and the morning fog was heavy. Crewmembers quickly immobilized and treated him at the scene. No medical helicopters could fly due the fog. He was rapidly transported to Colleton Medical Center by Medic 19.The driver of the car was not injured. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Engine 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 12  and Car 111 responded. Firefighter-EMT Shane Weber served as Incident Commander.
