07/March/2014 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift

Incident # 14-01468 – A fire heavily damaged a Jerusalem Road home Friday afternoon 07-March at 13:52. A neighbor alerted 9-1-1 that the home had flames coming from the windows and was threatening a second house located about 10 feet away. Engine 6 arrived to find heavy smoke conditions and flames visible from the windows on one end of the doublewide mobile home. Firefighters deployed two 1-3/4 handlines and quickly knocked down the flames, containing the fire to the south end of the structure. A search of the building revealed no occupants. It was later determined that no one was at home when the fire occurred. Many items were salvaged in the remainder of the home, but the structure suffered heavy damage. The second building was not damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Engine 6, Engine 25, Tender 2, Tender 6, Tender 8, Tender 13, Tender 25,  Medic 6, Medic 13, Battalion 1, Car 107, Car 111 and Car 12 responded. Battalion Chief Dan Barb served as Incident Commander.
