28/July/2014 – MVC with Air Evac – “C” Shift 

Incident # 14-04428 – A two car collision in the 1200 block of North Jefferies Blvd injured two people, one severely. The vehicles collided just north of Spruce Street in a “T” type collision. One car had approximately 2-1/2 feet of intrusion into the vehicle. The 20 year old patient suffered multiple traumatic injuries. She was immobilized and treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics on Medic 19, then transported to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with LifeNet 4. She was flown by LifeNet to the Trauma Center at MUSC. Medic 26 was also requested and transported a 16 year old female to Colleton Medical Center. The accident blocked all four lanes of Jefferies Blvd for approximately 25 minutes. The Walterboro Police Dept is investigating the crash.

Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 12, Car 118 and Walterboro Engines 1 and 3 responded. Walterboro Captain Wayne Lake serve as Incident Commander.
