04/April/2015 – MVC w/Air Evac – “C” Shift

Incident # 15-01823 – A 44 year old Tennessee man suffered critical injuries in a motorcycle crash Saturday morning 04-April. At 09:38, Fire-Rescue was sent to the 7400 block of Sidneys Road were the motorcycle left the roadway in a curve and flipped over in the ditch. The driver was ejected into a wooded area. He received multiple traumatic injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics immediately called for a medical helicopter when they arrived at the scene. They treated the man before immobilizing him, then rapidly transported him to the Lowcountry Regional Airport to meet with LifeNet 4. The man was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.  

Engine 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Battalion Chief Ben Heape served as Incident Commander.
