07/April/2015 – Shooting Incident – “A” Shift

Incident # 15-01904 – A 53 year old man was critically injured after receiving a gunshot wound to the chest Tuesday evening 07-April. At 23:38, Fire-Rescue and Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to 62 Jared Road for the report of a person being shot. Firefighter-Paramedics found the man in extreme difficulty and began treating him on scene. LifeNet 4, stationed at Colleton Medical Center was placed on standby. Crews rapidly transported him to the helipad and transferred care to the Flightcrew. The man was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. Twenty six minutes later a second GSW occurred approximately ½ mile from this scene. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

Medic 1, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 118 responded. Captain (Acting Battalion Chief) Scott O’Quinn served as Incident Commander.
