05/May/2015 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Incident # 15-02423 - A Wesley Grove home was heavily damaged in a late night fire Tuesday 05-May. At 23:32, Fire-Rescue was notified of a home at 1950 Wesley Grove Road with flames coming from the windows and roof. Firefighters arrived within six minutes to find the single story brick veneer residence approximately 75% involved. The roof on one end of the structure had already collapsed. A truck, tractor and a detached garage were endangered. Firefighters deployed two 1-3/4 handlines to combat the fire. They also protected the exposures. A tender shuttle operation was initiated for water supply. Crews were able to stop the spread of the fire, but most of the interior of the home was destroyed. A few items on the garage end of the building were salvageable. Fire-Rescue units were on the scene for 3-1/2 hours. It appears the fire was electrical in nature, starting in a bed room. No one was home when the fire occurred.

Engine 9, Engine 34, Tender 9, Tender 19, Tender 34, Tender 36, Medic 9, Medic 19 and Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
