24/May/2015 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Incident # 15-02787 – A mobile home was destroyed in an early morning fire at 41 Turtle Court Sunday 24-May. At 05:45 the incident was reported to 9-1-1. Engine 9 arrived to find the doublewide mobile home fully involved. The roof and most of the walls had already burned away. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed two 1-3/4” handlines to combat the fire. The remaining wall studs collapsed shortly after crews arrived. The home was located on a rural dead end street near the Edisto River about five miles east of Cottageville. No one was at home when the fire occurred. Firefighters were on the scene for 2-1/2 hours. Water supply was provided with Tenders. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
