03/November/2015 – MVC with Entrapment – “C” Shift

Incident #15-06432 – A 29 year old Colleton County woman, suffered non-life threatening traumatic injuries in a single car MVC in the 18000 block of Round O Road, Tuesday morning 03-November at 07:23. Fire-Rescue units arrived to find the Toyota Corolla had crossed a ditch, knocked down a section of fence before traveling through a field and collided a second time with the wooden fence. The accident occurred during a heavy rain. A fence rail entered the passenger compartment and was impaled through the back seat. The driver was trapped in the wreckage. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the woman as other crew members used Holmatro Rescue Tools to remove the driver’s door and free the woman. She was extricated with spinal precautions, then transported to Colleton Medical Center by Medic 9. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.  

Engine 9, Engine 19, Medic 9, Rescue 1, Car 105 and Car 118 responded. Deputy Chief David Greene served as Incident Commander.
