19/October/2016 – Motorcycle vs Car MVC – “A” Shift

Incident # 16-06881- Four people were injured in a two vehicle MVC in the 2600 block of Jefferies Hwy (US Hwy 15) at the intersection of Carolina Circle Wednesday afternoon 19-October at 13:12. Both vehicles were traveling northbound, when the motorcycle was struck in the rear by a small car. Both adult occupants of the motorcycle were ejected, receiving multiple traumatic injuries. Neither were wearing a helmet. An adult and a small child in the car received minor injuries and did not require ambulance transportation. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived to find the motorcycle riders lying in the roadway. Two lanes of Jefferies Hwy were blocked. Crews treated both patients at the scene, then transported them emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 19 to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical in Summerville. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Engine 19, Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Firefighter-EMT Shane Weber served as Incident Commander.
