25/October/2016 – Structure and Grass Fire – “A” Shift

Incident # 16-07016 – Firefighters responded to a large outdoor building fire at 297 Daniels Lane Tuesday evening 25-October. At 19:22, the next door neighbor notified 9-1-1 the building was fully involved and the fire was spreading toward a residence on the property. Engine, Tender and Medic 26 located ½ mile away, arrived minutes later to find the large storage building well involved. The fire had spread through tall grass and burned approx. 1/4 acre. Crews deployed one 1-3/4 handline to combat the building fire and a booster line to extinguish the grass fire. The fire was under control in about 15 minutes and extinguished in 35 minutes. The building and contents were destroyed. Firefighters kept the fire away from the mobile home and swimming pool. It appeared the fire spread from a yard debris fire that rekindled from several days earlier.

Engine 19, Engine 26, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 26 and Battalion 1 responded. Captain John Schneider served as Incident Commander.
