14-November-2016 – Commendation for Life Saving Awards

The Fire-Rescue Commission recognized seven employees for life saving during the monthly Commission Meeting held Monday evening 14-November. Engineer-Paramedic Robert Gregory, Engineer-EMT Cody Hutto and Firefighter-EMT Brad Welch were recognized for rescuing a wheel chair bound woman from a house fire near Cottageville during Hurricane Matthew last month. Battalion Chief Ben Heape, Engineer-Paramedic Brian Rowe, Firefighter-EMT Rusty Sullivan and Chief McRoy were recognized for the successful resuscitation of a 31 year old male who suffer an electrocution with cardiac arrest at a local work site in September. Commission Chairman LaVern Polk and Deputy Chief Greene presented the Commendation for Life Saving awards. Many of the employee’s families were present.
