17/November/2016 – Fatal MVC with entrapment – “C” Shift

Incident # 16-07584 – A Ritter woman was killed in a high speed single car MVC in the 5700 block of Green Pond Hwy. Thursday evening 17-November. 9-1-1 was notified on the accident at 20:45. The northbound Nissan Maxima left the roadway and struck a tree on the south side of the highway causing heavy damage to the vehicle. The unrestrained driver was trapped in the wreckage. Firefighter-Paramedics found the female occupant unconscious with no signs of life. The Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene. Once their investigation was complete, crews used Holmatro Rescue Tools to remove the driver’s side door to free the occupant. She was transported by the Coroner’s Office. The SC Hwy Patrol is investigating the crash.

Engine 1, Rescue 1, Medic 1, Medic 6, Battalion 1, Car 12 and Car 107 responded. Asst. Chief Marty Stallings served as Incident Commander.
