24/November/2016 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift

Incident # 16-07767 - A suspicious fire destroyed the interior of a singlewide mobile home at 43 Hardee Circle 24-Novmber at 23:26. Engine 19 arrived to find the residential building well involved. Firefighters deployed two 1-3/4 handlines to combat the fire and quickly knocked down the bulk of the flames within ten minutes containing the damage to the interior of the building. Crews had to pull some siding from the north end of the building to gain access the burning debris inside. They were on the scene performing overhaul for over two hours. The home was vacant and evidence at the scene indicated the residence was initially set. Firefighters were on the scene through the night and were involved in the investigation most of the next morning. Arson investigators from Fire-Rescue, SLED and Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office are working the case. Engine 19, Engine 24, Tender 1, Tender 19, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 12 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O’Quinn served as Incident Commander.
