03/April/2017 – Structure Fire – “A” Shift

Incident # 17-02222 – Firefighters saved a home at 546 Abbey Lane in the Burr Hill Community Monday morning 03-April. At 00:31, 9-1-1 received a report of a residence with flames burning on the porch and the front of the building. Firefighters arrived minutes later to find flames around the front door and on the roof. Crews deployed two handlines and quickly contained the fire to one room. The home suffered smoke damage. The fire originated in an electrical box for the A/C unit near the front door. The flames spread up the front of the doublewide mobile home and into the attic area. A portion of the roof over the front bedroom was burned away, but the remainder of the home was saved. Everyone was able to exit the building safely and no injuries were reported. Fire units were on the scene for 2-1/2 hours.  

Engine 9, Engine 34, Tender 2, Tender 9, Tender 19, Tender 36, Medic 9, Battalion 1, Car 109 and Car 118 responded. Lt. Jimmy Jacques served as Incident Commander.
