03/July/2017 – MVC with Air Evac – “C” Shift

Incident # 17-04526 – An Adult male was seriously injured in a single vehicle motorcycle accident on Hudson Mill Road at the intersection of Indian Creek Drive at 14:15 Monday afternoon 03-July. The eastbound motorcycle lost control in a curve, left the roadway and the driver came off of the bike landing in the roadway. The man suffered multiple traumatic injuries, including a head injury. Firefighter-Paramedics quickly treated the man at the scene and placed C.A.R.E. Flight on standby at Colleton Medical Center. The patient was immobilized and transported emergent in Medic 18 with additional personnel on board. Once at the helipad at CMC, the patient was transferred to the C.A.R.E. Flight crew, then flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Engine 18, Medic 18, Battalion 1 and Car 112 responded. Battalion Chief Ben Heape served as Incident Commander.
