09/July/2017 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 17-04718 – A doublewide mobile home was heavily damaged in a late night fire at 1334 Forks Road south of Islandton Sunday 09-July. At 23:17, 9-1-1 was notified of smoke and flames visible from the residence. Engine 15 arrived minutes later to find heavy fire conditions inside the structure and flames coming through the roof in the center of the building. Firefighters deployed multiple handlines to combat the fire. A Tender shuttle was established for water supply and Engine 10 was directed to a dry hydrant approximately ¾ of a mile from the scene. Crews worked for approximately 30 minutes to gain control of the fire and were on the scene for four hours. The origin of the fire is suspicious in nature. Investigators from SLED’s Arson Unit responded to the scene Monday morning. No one was home when the fire occurred.

Engine 10, Engine 15, Engine 18, Tender 13, Tender 15, Tender 18, Tender 23, Medic 13, Medic 18, Battalion 1 and Car 112 responded. Captain Matt Parler served as Incident Commander.
