02/January/2018 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 18-00042 – A fire in the flue pipe connected to a wood burning stove, ignited the surrounding wall at a residence located at 50 Flash Lane north of the Town of Smoaks Tuesday afternoon 02-January at 14:43. Firefighters removed the wall covering to expose the burned supports and used one handline to extinguish the fire. The flames had spread to the attic and burned through the exterior of the wall. The fire was contained to the area of origin and damage to the home was minimal. Crews were on the scene for approximately one hour.

Engine 7, Engine 18, Tender 7, Tender 17, Tender 18, Tender 26, Medic 18, Medic 26 and Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
