05/March/2018 – Structure Fire – “B” Shift

Incident # 18-01582 – A doublewide mobile home was saved from an early morning fire at 1420 Possum Corner Road Monday 05-March. At 08:30, 9-1-1 received a report of smoke coming from under the home. Engine 1 arrived to find light smoke coming from the front door and eaves. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed one handline to the residence and located the fire in the air handler (HVAC System). The fire had extended into the attic space and under the residence. Crews pulled the ceiling around the air handler and quickly extinguished the fire in the ceiling and worked for about 15 minutes gaining access to the fire under the mobile home. The structure suffered moderate damage, but all of the personal items were saved. Units were on the scene for approximately an hour.

Engine 1, Engine 6, Tender 1, Tender 6, Tender 12, Tender 22, Medic 1, Medic 6 and Battalion 1 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
