05/December/2018 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift 

Incident # 18-08418 – At 15:01 Tuesday 05-December, Station # 7 received a report of a structure that had burned in the 500 block of Mohawk Court. Engine 7 and Medic 7 responded to the location and found an abandoned single story residence already on the ground. The home had not been occupied in five years and did not have power. The yard was overgrown creating some access problems. Firefighters deployed two handlines to finish extinguishing the remaining pile of smoldering debris. The home is located on a sparsely populated small dirt road and approximately ½ mile from Sunrise Road (SC Hwy 217). Crews were on the scene for 1-1/2 hours. Tenders 7 and 18 responded for water supply. The cause is under investigation, but is suspicious in nature.
