25/March/2019 – Woods/Building Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 19-02008 – An unattended yard debris fire spread to a neighbors yard destroying an outside storage building, an automobile and heavily damaging a second small storage unit Monday afternoon 25-March. The incident was reported at 16:53 behind 3565 Cooks Hill Road. Engine 1 set up on Cooks Hill Road, while Tender 1 accessed the fire from a residence on Barley Ct. The fire spread to a third property and burned approx. ¾ of an acre. One Forestry Tractor was requested and cut a line around the woods fire. Firefighters deployed two handlines to extinguish the fires in the storage buildings and the passenger car. Crews kept the fire from reaching a residence on the adjacent property. Units were on the scene for approximately 1-1/2 hours.

Engine 1, Engine 6, Engine 12, Brush 2, Tender 1, Battalion 1, Car 104, Car 107, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott Feather served as Incident Commander.
