28/May/2019 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 19-03672 – A lamp appeared to be the culprit that started a fire in a residence located in the 3400 block of Possum Corner Road Tuesday morning 28-May. The fire was reported to 9-1-1 at 07:18 when a neighbor saw smoke coming from the 101 year old home. The residence was being renovated and it appeared a lamp was left on and fell over sometime during the night. The lamp ignited the carpet and burned a hole through the floor in a front bedroom. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived to find smoke coming from the eaves of the single story wood frame dwelling. Crews deployed one 1-3/4 handline and entered through the front door. They quickly extinguished the fire and spent approx. 30 minutes performing overhaul. The fire was contained to the bedroom and the remainder of the structure suffered smoke damage. No one was living in the residence.

Engine 1, Engine 6, Engine 22, Tender 1, Tender 2, Tender 6, Tender 12, Tender 22, Medic 1, Medic 6, Battalion 1 and Car 112 responded. Captain Gary Nahrstedt served as Incident Commander.
