02/June/2019 – Structure Fire – “C” Shift

Incident # 19-03829 - A Drain Road home was heavily damaged in an evening fire Sunday night 02-June. At 22:40, the homeowner returned home to find smoke and flames coming from one end of the singlewide mobile home. He called 9-1-1 and attempted to extinguish the fire until Fire-Rescue units arrived, but was driven out of the structure by the extreme heat and smoke. Engine 7 reported the residence was approximately 30% involved on their arrival. Firefighters deployed two handlines, made entry through the front door and conducted an aggressive interior attack on the blaze. They quickly got control of the fire, however the flames gutted most of the interior. It appears the fire began in the back bedroom. No one was home when the fire occurred and no injuries were reported. The man lost most of his belongings. The Red Cross is assisting him. Water supply was conducted with Tenders.

Engine 5, Engine 7, Tender 7, Tender 18, Tender 26, Tender 27, Tender 32, Medic 7, Medic 18, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Captain Brian Rowe served as Incident Commander.
