14/September/2019 – MVC with entrapment – “B” Shift

Incident # 19-06391 – A mini-van and Lexus sedan collided head-on in a curve in the 2000 block of Burlington Road Saturday morning 14-Sept at 08:26. The low speed MVC injured five people with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the mini-van was trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters arrived to find the roadway blocked by the two cars. The adult male in the mini-van was freed after crews removed the passenger door using Holmatro Rescue Tools from Engine 19. Two adults and two small children in the Lexus were also transported to the hospital for evaluation. The SC Hwy Patrol is investigating the collision.

Engine 19, Medic 19, Medic 26, Rescue 1, Battalion 1 and Car 112 responded. Firefighter-EMT Robert McAlhaney served as incident Commander.
