20/October/2019 – Burn Patient with Air Evac – “B” Shift

Incident # 19-07382 – A 10 year old girl received severe burns after a pot of boiling water spilled on her in the kitchen of her home on Dragonfly Lane Sunday evening 20-October at 19:19. Firefighter-Paramedics responded to the home and treated the young patient. They requested a medical helicopter, then transported her to Bells Elementary School in Fire-Rescue Medic 7 to meet with the C.A.R.E. Flight helicopter. Other crew members set up a Landing Zone for the helicopter in the front field at the school. The patient was transferred to the Flight Crew without incident and flown to the Pediatric Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.  

Medic 7, Medic 18, Engine 18, Battalion 1, Car 104, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Captain Janet Laney served as Incident Commander.
