24/May/2020 – Shooting Incident – “C” Shift 

Incident # 20-03407 – An adult male received a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest Sunday evening 24-May at a residence on Huckleberry Hill Lane north of Cottageville. The incident was reported to 9-1-1 at 20:36. Bystanders provided aid, including bleeding control before Firefighter-Paramedics arrived. The patient was in critical condition and experiencing difficulty breathing. A medical helicopter was sent to the scene and landed in a field on August Hwy near Meeting House Road. The patient was transported by Fire-Rescue Medic 9 to the field. Several life saving procedures were performed on scene, then the patient was transferred to the helicopter and flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
