03/June/2020 – High Speed MVC – “A” Shift

Incident # 20-03628 – Three people were injured in a single vehicle MVC in the 2300 block of Cannon Road Wednesday afternoon 03-June at 19:15. A northbound Ford Pickup truck dropped off of the right shoulder, over-corrected, entered the southbound ditch and struck a ditch embankment. The truck received heavy damage and the three unrestrained occupants suffered multiple injuries. Two Fire-Rescue ambulances responded to the scene. An adult female suffered head and facial injuries and an adult male also suffered facial, but non-life threatening injuries. Both of those patients were transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston by Fire-Rescue Medic 19. The adult male driver refused transportation to the hospital. Both lanes of Cannon Road were blocked for over an hour. The pickup truck lost most of its load, including two five gallon buckets of paint which covered the roadway. Several bystanders assisted in cleaning debris from the road and Engine 19’s crew used a booster line to wash most of the paint from the roadway. The SC Hwy Patrol is investigating the accident.

Engine 19, Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 110 and Car 112 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
