18/October/2020 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift

Incident # 20-07154 - A suspicious fire destroyed a double wide mobile home in the 11500 block of Augusta Hwy (SC Hwy 61) Sunday evening 18-October. 9-1-1 received several reports of the fire at 22:56 advising the home was fully involved. Engine 26 arrived approx.10 minutes later to find the residence almost completely destroyed. The roof and most of the walls had already collapsed. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple handlines to combat the flames. They had the bulk of the fire knocked down within 10 minutes, but remained on scene performing overhaul for three hours. Water supply was handled with Tenders. The fire was suspicious in origin and is still under investigation by the Sheriff's Office and Fire-Rescue.  Anyone with information related to the fire are urged to contact the SLED Arson Hotline at 1-800-922-7766, the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 549-2211 or Fire-Rescue Headquarters at (843) 539-1960. 

Engine 5, Engine 26, Tender 5, Tender 7, Tender 19, Tender 26, Tender 27, Tender 36, Medic 7, Medic 19, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 101, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
