10-February-2021 - Burn Patient - "A" Shift

Incident # 21-01051 - At 17:49 Wednesday afternoon 10-February, Fire-Rescue units were sent to 8 Viola Ct. for a report of a child being burned following a mini bike accident. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived minutes later to find the mini bike still on fire in the yard. They began treating an eight year old male for second and third degree burns to his right leg. Other crew members extinguished the burning motorcycle. Bystanders advised the child had been riding the mini bike when it exploded and caught fire, which then set the boy's clothes on fire. Crews dressed his wounds and administered pain medications before transporting him to the Pediatric Burn Center at MUSC in Charleston. 

Engine 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
