13/February/2021 - MVC with Entrapment - "A" Shift

Incident # 21-01126 - An adult female suffered non-life threatening traumatic injuries after her Jeep left the roadway on Interstate 95 near the 56 mile marker northbound Saturday evening 13-Feb at 20:02. The car entered the median at a high rate of speed and struck several trees causing damage to the front and driver's side. The woman was trapped in the wreckage. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived minutes later and used Holmatro Rescue Tools to remove the driver's door to extricate the patient. She was transported to Colleton Medical Center for further treatment. A canine and two rabbits were also in the car. Crews checked the animals and they did not appear to be injured. Animal Services responded to the accident to transport the animals. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the MVC. 

Engine 1, Medic 1, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
