Incident # 21-01706 - An eastbound passenger car crossed both eastbound lanes of Bells Hwy and collided with a sign in front of Planters Trace Thursday morning 11-March at 09:27. It is believed the adult female driver suffered a medical emergency just prior to the crash. An off-duty nurse was traveling behind the woman when the accident occurred. When other motorists stopped to assist the woman was unconscious inside the car. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived a short time later and found the woman in cardiac arrest. Resuscitative efforts were conducted at the scene and during the short transport to Colleton Medical Center. The woman did not survive. The Walterboro Police Dept. is investigating the accident.
